Jay Collins Issues Storm Warning
I made it down to Renegades on the River in Putnam County on Wednesday for Lt. Governor and gubernatorial candidate Jay Collins’ rally. Collins was late for his own rally, but for a good reason. He had to step back into his role as Lt. Governor and respond to both Clay & Putnam counties to assist local governments with raging forest fires caused by the most widespread and severe drought since 2001. After ensuring the counties had all the assistance and resources they needed from the State, Jay headed over to Renegades.
Upon arrival, Jay went into the restaurant, met everyone, and then headed to the bar for his rally. As he exited the restaurant, Jay shook hands with me and introduced himself. I couldn’t help but think he reminded me of some of the Special Forces and USAF Special Operations professionals I know. These types of operators are usually modest and low-key because they are not out to prove anything. They’ve been there, done that, and got the t-shirt. He entered the bar and met with the folks there before starting his speech. If you’ve never heard Jay speak in person, do so! He spoke to the crowd on several subjects critical to Florida and the country.
One of the subjects was the recent redistricting vote in Virginia. Jay warned that this election would decide Florida’s fate. A continuation of conservative policies or a return to purple and then some. In Virginia, Governor Spanberger, who, despite promising she wouldn’t, (Shocking, I know) rammed through a redistricting scheme billed as “fairness” that cost Republicans 4 House seats.
Virginia had 6 democrat and 5 republican seats in Congress, perhaps the best in the country. It now has 10 Democrat and 1 Republican seats in Congress. The gerrymandering in this vote is off the charts. The bill passed by 51 to 49 percent, which means the original 6D, 5R was correct. While lawsuits have been filed alleging that this vote broke over 4 separate laws, I never get my hopes up that justice will prevail, given what we’ve seen previously.
Jay warned that this fight would decide Florida’s Future, and we need all hands on deck. We already know Byron’s thoughts on this. He’s already stated he wouldn’t get involved with redistricting because he doesn’t want to get sued! He finished up with a question and answer session covering illegals, recidivism, and work training for inmates, and more. This man will answer your questions honestly and won’t tell you something you want to hear.
Folks! Florida is the grand prize. The liberals want this state because they are always ready to enjoy the fruits of other people’s labor. Due to Ron DeSantis’s policies, we’ve enjoyed record growth, paid down debt, and have the #1 education system in the country. We can continue this run with Jay Collins at the helm, or become California. Vote for Jay Collins, because Byron Can’t Happen!
